Medical Advocacy
Medical advocates are 40-hour trained volunteers who respond to the hospital to provide emotional support, clothing, and information regarding hospital procedures. Advocates help educate the victim about their options when it comes to hospital procedures and pressing charges. The advocate serves as a liaison between the victim, the police, and ER personnel. Services are also available for the victim's family and significant others. Advocates and staff respond to hospital calls 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
